On this episode of the podcast show, we dig deeper into the sound work of Matthew Revert and Vanessa Rossetto. Matthew and Vanessa’s work together traces back to their activities in and around Graham Lambkin’s now defunct Kye imprint, and both have gone on to put out a number of compelling solo releases in recent years that combine elements of musique concrète, sound poetry, electroacoustic composition, and more fractured song forms. Matthew and Vanessa are set to release their second collaborative release on Erstwhile, a sprawling 75-minute piece called “Everyone Needs A Plan”. On this installment of the show, I chat with both Vanessa and Matthew separately about their solo work, about their shared appreciation for voice and narrative elements within their sound work, and about collaborating together on their latest release. You’ll hear those conversations throughout the show, along with some selections from their solo catalogs and a couple of lengthy excerpts from “Everyone Needs A Plan”. I hope you enjoy this episode. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or comments. As always, thanks for looking and listening.
