For this first episode of the FFFoxy Podcast of 2022, my guest on the show is Chiara Lee, who was a member of Father Murphy, an Italian band that was active for much of the past two decades until announcing in 2018 that the project was coming to an end with the release of their final album Rising: A Requiem for Father Murphy and its subsequent tour. Since Father Murphy has ended, Chiara has gone on to start a tape label called Commando Vanessa and a music blog called Florilegio with other collaborators, both covering a broad range of experimental and underground music with “an inclusive, atypical approach.” In my chat with Chiara, we discuss all of these different projects, along with some of the new musical activities that she and her former Father Murphy bandmate, Freddie, have been up to.
