For this episode of the podcast, we dig into the fascinating world of Sweet Wreath, an experimental label based in Irondale, Alabama presenting artists working with sound, text, and performance in the broader American underground and beyond. Sweet Wreath’s activities indeed extend well beyond the typical record label, acting more as a multimedia entity with a focus on community engagement and local activism. 

This past week I had a chance to speak with Jasper Lee, who leads the Sweet Wreath label. Lee’s own music and other artistic pursuits across various mediums mirrors the wide-ranging scope of Sweet Wreath’s activities.
