FFFoxy Podcast #249: Paisley Shirt Records feature

On this episode of the podcast show, I dig deeper into the work of the San Francisco-based label, Paisley Shirt Records. Started in 2013 by Kevin Linn and his friends as an outlet for the various recording projects that they were working on at the time, the label eventually became the sole operation of Linn’s who gradually expanded its focus to a wider range of artists making lo-fi pop, experimental outsider music, and post-punk sounds in the Bay Area (and beyond). Linn continues to release many of his projects such as Sad Eyed Beatniks, Present Electric, and Tam Lin on the label too.

I recently had a chance to speak with Kevin, and we discussed the beginnings of Paisley Shirt, the small community of artists and musicians he connected with through the Hit Gallery, the music he has been making as Sad Eyed Beatniks, and much more. You’ll hear that interview in a few segments throughout the show, and you’ll also hear track selections from numerous releases from the Paisley Shirt Records catalog. I hope you enjoy this episode. Feel free to get in touch if you have any comments or questions. As always, thanks for looking and listening.
