The KMSU Fall Pledge Drive begins on Wednesday, October 23rd, and wraps up on Friday, November 1st! We hope that you’ll take a moment out of your day and help us keep this wonderful little radio station alive and kicking on the radio (and online) dial. Your donations are incredibly important to the station, and they allow us to do so much more than just keep the lights on. With your support we’ve been able to make improvements to our studios and tower, and we’ve been able to establish a satellite studio in the Arts Center of Saint Peter that allows us to produce some of the great original programming you hear on our schedule. Your pledge is also a vote of confidence in the station and the unique programming and events that we offer to southern MN. The station has a goal of raising $25,00o, which will be used towards paying all of the rising operational costs and to continue to improve our signal to the north of Mankato. There are some great thank-you gifts for people that make donations at various amounts: we are particularly fond of the Goat Toat / Record Store Expedition combo!!
As with previous Pledge Drives, Free Form Freakout will also be offering some exclusive music care packages at the $40 level that will include various combinations of LPs, CDs, tapes, zines, stickers, pins, etc. You can pick these up during our regular Thursday time slot (2:00 p.m. CST); however, feel free to get in touch at anytime during the pledge drive if you’d like to make a donation to the station and grab one of these care packages from us.
We have been setting aside some great releases to include in these music care packages over the past six months, but our good pals and free form radio supporters at Ever/Never Records from NYC have sweetened the offerings by chipping in a stack of LPs from their amazing catalog. Included in their contribution is our favorite rock album of the year from Taiwan Housing Project and a forthcoming debut release from The Chinese Restaurants [pictured above]. Believe us, you want these records in your collection!!
